DESCRIPTION

This classic survey of Christianity's theological development offers a succinct but complete chronicle of the Christian theological tradition. Beginning with the Israel and tracing development down to present day articulations, the second edition of A History of Christian Theology covers the full spectrum of theological viewpoints.

The second edition also includes expanded treatments of theological developments at the end of the twentieth-century and the preliminary trajectories theologians are taking at the beginning of the twenty-first. Updated bibliographies, thoroughly revised chapters, and a very valuable discussion about how recent developments in biblical studies have impacted theology, round out the text well. Informative but concise, this text is an excellent tool that students can use to quickly come up to speed on historical theology and begin contributing to the conversation.
