DESCRIPTION
David has been pastor, denominational leader, preacher, speaker, scholar, author, missionary, training director, co-founder of a theological school, and mentor. He has indeed embodied an exemplary integration of the academy and the church. In truth, confining him to this duality is a bit unfair, as there is one more arena in which David is at home: the arts.
David is also a published author of fiction, a lyricist for musicals, and a keen film aficionado.
It gives us, the editors, great pleasure to introduce this volume, An Owl's Journey, that celebrates the 70th birthday of Pastor David. It is our hope that the essays collected here reflect Daivd's "homes" - the church, the academy, the arts - and that they are brought together for the glory of God.
