DESCRIPTION

As a child, C. S. Lewis caught glimpses of a 'truer-than life world,' a realm drenched with what he could only call 'joy.' As a teen, inspired by George McDonald's Phantases, he 'saw the bright shadow coming out of the book into the real world and resting there, transforming all common things and yet itself unchanged.' The 'new quality, the bright shadow' that enamored Lewis was a manifestation of ultimate reality. It was, he discovered, 'holiness.'

Gerard Reed invites you to an insightful and enlightening exploration of the holiness of God-translated into the health, wholeness, and joy of the inner life-as traced in the writings of C. S. Lewis. The reader discovers Lewis's emphasis on 'transformation', the divine working of the Holy Spirit, infusing grace and conforming believers to the image of Christ Jesus.

These themes resonate with the believer's quest for the holy life.Providing a fascinating quest and intense study, C. S. Lewis and The Bright Shadow of Holiness invites the reader to 'share the joy' and join the adventure of new heights to which the bright shadow may lure you!
