DESCRIPTION

Do we need to take the early chapters of Genesis literally? For many, even evangelicals, belief in the historicity of these chapters is an anachronism or, at best, an optional extra. In this book, John Peet examines the impact of Genesis 1-11 on a range of fundamental doctrines as developed throughout the Scriptures, including God, the bible, mankind and our salvation. Highlighting the contrast between the creationist and evolutionist approaches, he demonstrates that a rejection of the historicity of these chapters is extremely dangerous, undermining our confidence in God's provision of salvation and having serious consequences for society as a whole.
