Domestic violence is not just a private family concern but is a public phenomenon embedded in the structure of our society. Therefore the church's role should not be merely to assist victims caught in violent families but more importantly to help eradicate domestic violence from our society. Information about the protection and services available to victims is given, together with suggestions as to how the church can assist individual victims.
