DESCRIPTION
Flickering Lamps: Christ and His Church (August 2015, Blackaby Ministries International) tells the story of Dr. Henry Blackaby's journey as he followed God's call to leave everything behind and serve as the pastor of a small, dying church in the prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada.
In his twelve-year tenure at Faith Baptist Church, Henry Blackaby saw God work in miraculous ways. When he arrived the church had ten remaining members who had previously put a "For Sale" sign on their property. Twelve years later the church was not only thriving, but it had also started 38 mission churches and inspired millions of people by its story.
Henry and Richard Blackaby adamantly believe that no church should die if Christ is its head. They have witnessed first-hand what God can do to revitalize a small church that was on the brink of disbanding, and they believe God is ready to do the same in any church that is willing to follow Christ's leading.
Not only does Flickering Lamps tell the story of one church, but it also shares the universal spiritual truths God taught Henry and Richard Blackaby along the way. The profound wisdom and practical advice Henry and Richard Blackaby offer from their own experience is sure to challenge pastors and church leaders to make the changes necessary to see their church thrive.
