DESCRIPTION
What drives a man to love those he hated? In From Vengeance to Forgiveness, you ll discover Corporal Jake DeShazer, a bombardier with World War II s famous Doolittle Raiders. After an unprecedented bombing on Japan, Doolittle s planes were unable to refuel. Lost and without fuel, DeShazer s B-25 went down over occupied China, and the corporal was taken into custody as a Japanese POW. For 40 long months, he endured torture, starvation, beatings, humiliation, and seemingly endless solitary confinement. You ll discover, though, that even though Jake was alone in prison, he found comfort in Psalm 139: If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. In those captive moments with God, Jake DeShazer was spiritually redeemed, vengeance was transformed to forgiveness, and a warrior was enlisted into God s army. DeShazer s extraordinary journey waits for you in From Vengeance to Forgiveness. Trace his life from a simple farmer, to one of the Doolittle Raiders, to a heart yielded to the King of all creation to work as a missionary in Japan. You ll hear firsthand testimonies from his wife, children, other Raiders, historians, and the Japanese who came to know Jesus through DeShazer s faithful service. Join the Day of Discovery team as they bring history to life with this edge-of-your-seat documentary.
