DESCRIPTION

This inspiring and challenging book unfolds the character God requires in a leader, letting God define leadership.

Philip Greenslade draws on his experience and enthusiasm to outline the characteristics of a true leader, reminding us of those biblical ideals found in Christ, Paul and other great saints in Scripture and history:

• Part 1 assumes that leadership is a good thing, asks why it is important, and suggests ways of overcoming resistance to it.
• Part 2 looks at how leadership emerges and functions, the difficulties it faces, the dangers it is prone to and the safeguards available to it.
• Part 3 looks first at the kind of leadership Jesus repudiated and then at the leadership He endorsed by His own example and teaching and bestowed as His own legacy to the Church.
• Part 4 surveys some of the ways in which leadership operates today and seeks to encourage the restoration of more biblical structures to the Church's life and ministry.

Foreword by Derek Tidball, former Principal of London School of Theology.
