TRACT TEXT

Is anything more powerful than...

a 750 horsepower

race car...roaring around

a track at nearly

200 mph?

“I see my life as a race.

At age 35, I was wrecked, off the track, but the power of God in Christ has fixed me up and given me a wonderful new life!”

—Norm Miller

We long for power in our lives, power which will give us victory over our problems and success in our lives. But strangely enough, our society tells us that dependence on God’s power is the ultimate sign of weakness. We see “success” as the ability to go it alone, to make it without anyone’s help. Therefore, when we hear someone say, “I’m trusting in Jesus” or “God helped me to do it,” we immediately see that person as a weakling, a failure who couldn't make it alone and had to call on God for help.

LIFE’S PROBLEMS

Life’s problems affect us all. The rich are just as lonely and scared as the poor. We can’t handle broken relationships. Death frightens us. In short, we are all powerless to acquire lasting happiness, peace and security in this world. We’re too proud to admit it, but none of us can handle life’s problems alone.

YOU ARE SPECIAL TO GOD

Regardless of how you feel, the Bible declares that you are special to God. God loves YOU. And because He loves you so much, God gives you the freedom to accept that love—or to reject it. In other words, you can live your life your own way—or God’s way. The choice is yours. Nascar driver Bobby LaBonte and team owner Norm Miller have both made that choice. Now their POWER for life comes from a personal relationship with God. That’s right. God.

Not fast cars.

Not trophies or money.

Not fame or recognition.

But God, the only One who can give us the POWER to be truly successful.

Can anyone find this power?

Of course! Here’s how...

GETTING BACK TO GOD

Even though God has a plan for your life, there is a barrier between you and Him called sin. Our thoughts, words, and actions prove that we are all sinners. The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is what causes you to want to live your life by your own rules rather than God’s.

Truly successful people have learned that true POWER for life requires a proper relationship to God.

That’s where the Bible enters the picture. The Bible is not, as many people seem to think, a book of rules impossible to keep. While the Bible does contain God’s written will for our lives, it also introduces us to God’s Son, Jesus Christ, who alone can give us the POWER and desire to live according to God’s will and plan.

In other words, the Bible tells us how to get right with God. And when we get right with God, our whole life changes.

THE ANSWER IS THE SAME FOR EVERYONE
Your life may be different from Bobby’s or Norm’s. Everyone has their own special fears and concerns. No matter. God can give you the
POWER to overcome them through His Son, Jesus Christ. You can come into this relationship with Jesus Christ, just as so many others have, by understanding that:

1. God loves you.

The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16—also John 10:10).

2. People are sinful and separated from God.

Therefore, we cannot have fellowship with God or receive His full love. “Your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2—also Romans 3:23).

3. Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for our sin.

Jesus died in your place—paying the price for your sin. He rose from the dead, conquering death. He is the only way to God. Through Him you can experience God’s love and His plan for your life. “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8—also 1 Corinthians 15:3,4).

4. You must personally believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior.

“Everyone who believes in Him [Jesus] receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”(Acts 10:43—also Ephesians 2:8; Revelation 3:20). Contrary to what a lot of people assume,

becoming a Christian is not a matter of belonging to a church, having Christian parents or trying to live a good life. You need to trust Christ personally.

JUST TRUST HIM

God is eagerly waiting for you to acknowledge you are a sinner and for you to trust His Son, Jesus, as the One who paid your penalty for sin to give you eternal life.

The Bible says God loves you unconditionally. No matter what you have done, He loves you.Once you realize God stands ready to forgive you, the next step is to trust Him with your life. By simply believing God’s Word and accepting His forgiveness, you begin a new life in Christ. It was Christ who said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

If you want new life, but have never taken this step of faith, why not do it right now? It is the only way to find true POWER for life!

“His divine power has given us everything we POWERneed for life....” 2 Peter 1:3
