DESCRIPTION
THIS PRODUCT IS CURRENTLY OUT OF PRINT
As an official revision of the New English Bible, authorized under the auspices of the churches in Britain, this is a truly all-British bible with all the hallmarks of literary excellence.
If you're looking for a bible not under the Tyndale-King James lineage, with a fresh rendering of the Scriptures which are literary and stylistic, this is the bible. While most easy-to-understand versions such as the Good News Bible, New Living Translation or New Century Version inclined towards a reading level that is simpler...the Revised English Bible doesn't.
While attempting to be less literal than those of the Tyndale-King James family of translations - KJV, NKJV, NASB, RSV, ESV - it sets itself apart from the dynamic equivalent translations such as NCV, NIV, CEV and The Message by being more literate and stylistic, avoiding the mistake of being simplistic.
At the same time, it keeps the flow and cadence of the original language intact.
Beautifully crafted, this is one of the finest contemporary translations ever produced.
