DESCRIPTION

"The Church rests on the grace of God, the judging, atoning, regenerating grace of God which is his holy love in the form it must take within human sin. Wherever that is heartily confessed and goes on to rule we have the true Church." P. T. Forsyth

Do evangelicals have a clear and strong doctrine of the church? Can we generate one? Fourteen scholars and teachers explore in this volume the history of evangelical ecclesiology and the continuing discussion regarding the nature of the church, the question of sacraments, the relation of church to society, its moral character and missional witness.
