DESCRIPTION

These inspirational poems reflect Shriver's close and careful observation of the ordinary, daily events of life. With perception into both the natural world and the cultural/social world, her poems move beyond the stereotypical sentiments of political advocacy to compassion, concern, ministry, and, on occasion, confrontation. They contain a wealth of thought and emotion, and they challenge both the heart and mind.
