DESCRIPTION

In The Glory of Preaching: Participating in God's Transformation of the World, Professor Darrell Johnson argues that preaching is part of God's plan for the World. Consequently, when we preach, we participate in the great mystery of God speaking in his word, to the world, through us. Johnson provides a complete map for sermon construction, showing both passionately and carefully, how to deliver the sermon effectively by tying the sermon to the art of communication. Johnson is a brilliant communicator, and his insights will help you season your sermons with clarity and insight. This book truly constitutes not only another 'how to' on preaching, but a genuine theological construction of what a sermon 'is' at its very spiritual and divinely given core. This book is sure to challenge how we think about preaching and inspire us to new heights of expository creativity that will grip our audiences with the massage of the Gospel. As such it is a theology, a hermeneutics, and a preaching guide, and a lesson in the art of communication all wrapped into one.
