A moment ago I met you. And though we didn't have the chance to really know each other, I want you to know the most important thing in my life... and yours. So please don't throw this away. It's the most important thing I can tell you.

You see, I'm a Christian. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. And now I have the promise of eternal life in Heaven with Him.

I'm no preacher... just an ordinary, everyday Christian. But I want to share the peace and joy of knowing the Lord Jesus Christ that I have found.

How?

It's really simple--yet it's the most important decision you will make.

First, a little background. Will you agree with me on one thing--that you have sinned during your life? The Bible says that everyone has: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

Now, the Bible tells us that God is love, but also that He is holy and righteous (1 John 4:7-21; Romans 3:19-26). God wants you to have eternal life in Heaven with Him; but He must also deal justly with sinners. So the Word of God says, "The wages of sin is death"--spiritual death; separation from God throughout all eternity (Romans 6:23a).

Scare you into Heaven? No, I'm not trying to do that, although I'd rather scare you into Heaven than have you spend eternity in Hell.

But to return to what I was saying... Some time ago I recognized that I was a sinner, and that the wages of my sin were death. But I also found the wonderful promise in God's Word that "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord" (Romans 6:23b).

And this is the vital message I want to share with you. By trusting the Lord Jesus Christ in simple faith as the One who died for your sins and is risen again, you may be saved and have the promise of eternal life. This is on the authority not of any preacher or priest, but the Word of God itself: "Verily, verily, I [Jesus Christ] say unto you, he that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24).

This is what I wanted to tell you! It's the secret of true peace and joy--to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And I have given you this tract so that you may believe on Him too.

Jesus Christ died to save you. You can have this same happiness and assurance of eternal life that I have--by simply accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. Will you do it now? I am praying that you will.
