DESCRIPTION
"Christian thinking in general and biblical studies in particular are often abstract, seperated from life. In this work, Soo-Inn Tan bridges that gulf. He has the requisite tools to do this: (1) he is deeply rooted in the biblical text, (2) he is in intimate contact with the contemporary world, (3) he has suffered deeply and so is in contact with the pain of others, and (4) he is riskily vulnerable so that we can see his heart. Rarely do these qualities come together. This is, therefore, a rare book, a book that can accompany each of us on our journey. So rare it is, that I have stored each column as it came out on my hard disk; now I rejoice to have them bound together in printed form.
This is a book to be read and digested, for Soo-Inn holds up the lantern of Scripture to lead us as we thread our way through the various pains and joys of life. Unless you live on another planet than earth or in another age other than this fallen age, I doubt that you will find a more reflective Bible guide than Soo-Inn Tan. I would challenge you to read this book without being touched and without getting significant guidance from it."
