DESCRIPTION

Even the term "denomination" often sparks strong emotional reactions, and cause to wonder if there are merits to our factions and if it's possible to come together as one.

Showing how denominational affiliation can be natural and be good-without the negatives-and how evangelical identity can help rather than hinder Christian unity, Why We Belong: Evangelical Unity and Denominational Diversity explains both the personal and the doctrinal reasons the following contributors fit not only in their churches, but also in the broader universal church:

• Gerald Bray
• Timothy George
• Douglas Sweeney
• Timothy Tennent
• Byron Klaus
• Bryan Chapell

Demonstrating that Christians have significant reasons for identifying with denominations, this book also helps us see and belong to something much larger than our own traditions--the family of God.
