TRACT TEXT

Did you ever notice how much construction workers love to build things? Like bridges, roads, skyscrapers and houses?

And what about those great tools and machines they get to use? Like bulldozers, cement mixers, jackhammers and shovels?

Those look like fun, too. But not everything construction workers build stays up forever. Many times things get old, fall down, or just break, and that’s kind of sad. Then it’s time to fix things.

Did you know that you were “constructed” too? God made you, and He built you more carefully than any construction worker ever could. In fact, God made the whole world.

God’s book, the Bible, tells us, God made the sky and earth. God made every kind of animal. God made people as a copy of himself (Genesis 1:1, 25, 27).

God even made you, and He planned you long before you were born.

The Bible tells us,

Lord, you made my whole body. You knew all about me while I was still in my mother’s body. You made me in an amazing and wonderful way (Psalm 139:13,14).

Just like a construction worker watches his building or road take shape, God watched you grow too. You watched my bones grow while my body took shape (Psalm 139:15).

But, even though God wanted us to be perfect, we are broken. Something called sin is inside us all. Sin makes us do bad things that make God sad, like when we lie, cheat or disobey our parents.

The Bible says, Your sins separate you from God. God sees your sins, and he turns away from you (Isaiah 59:2).

The only way to fix sin is if someone is punished for it. And since God loves us so much, He sent His own Son, Jesus, to take that punishment for us. Jesus fixed all our sin forever when He died on a cross and came back to life.

The Bible says, Christ himself died for you. And that one death paid for your sins....He did this to bring you all to God (1 Peter 3:18).

All we have to do is believe in Jesus and accept what He did for us as a great and wonderful gift. Then we can talk to God anytime and Jesus will be with us, forever. Even after we die!

To have Jesus fix your sin, you can pray to Him something like this,

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for loving me and for building me. I know that I’m not perfect, and I need You to repair the sin in my life. Thank You for dying and rising again so that I could be forgiven and made perfect.

Amen.
